“Stay at Home”
By: Desia Sasmito
A month goes by, Everyone
has their own new activities surrounding house. The road seems to be very queit
and tranquil. Cars and Motorbikes have less movements. Otherwise, the container
freights goes and comes. The awarness to use mask has increasing rapidly. The
majority of villagers wear the mask. But some of them feel uncomfortable and
less breath. Still peaceful and grace everywhere. All of new comers are
forbidden to come to every regions.
In the city tend to have
red zone for Corona Virus; Jakarta, Surabaya, Semarang where the people has a
lot of mobility. The number of the case is increasing everyday. I wouldn't talk
much about what is going on in the cities. But I will talk a little about how
the villagers face this pandemic in a village where I’m living.
Market:
Traditional market is the
most crowded places everyday. Everyone’s still running their business in the
market. Vegetables, fruits, rice, and so on available during a half day. They
just have a warn that everybody should wear a mask.
Mosque:
Villagers will allow
prayers at small mosques (we call it “Langgar” or “Musholla”) during Ramadan
but worshipers must keep a distance of a meter from each other, wear a mask and
will be encouraged to bring their own prayer mats.
Some very traditional
Langgar do not practice social distancing at all, like our neighbor Langgar. So
we prefer to pray at home featuring and leading Ustad Burhan, my lovely Hubby.
Haha.
Park:
As we do not have any
Mall, so I can not compare between Mall and Masjid. We used to have a simple
Park in some significant spot. There is many food stall here, variety
traditional food has been sold. A crowded place in the afternoon to do hanging
up together as a family. Otherwise, as the Covid-19 comes, it is to be less
activity.
Even if this pandemic is
just a conspiracy as they told. But this disease is truly exist. Whatever they
have many argues in it. But we have to care each other. The Doctor, nurse,
hospital is the real heroes that have the same fear as human being. So be not
very so annoying. Be careful, wear a mask, practice the social distancing.
Limited our space and move. Praying and cleaning as you can. Recite the Qur’an,
learning tausiyah via YouTube or other social media. Welcome to the next page
of the Universe. This is just a beginning, everyday is never be the same.
